On my recent vacation I bought a whole bunch of CDs at Amoeba in SF. Whole lotta indie-pop. Marine Research, Call and Response, Bishop Allen, Foundry Field Recordings, Cub, Beulah, Voxtrot.Anyways, Call and Response have this song “California in Floating in Space” which is perfect for this footage I took while on the ferris wheel on the Santa Monica pier.
My sister Anja was given a trial Gillette Fusion to test. She passed it on to me and I made the required jokes about how it was overkill and what this world is coming to.
Well, I tried it out this morning, and it was terrific. I can’t quite explain what was so great about it, but it just zipped over my face, with no catching or cutting.
The extra razor on the other size for trimming worked great too.
So I’m switching from my usual Mach 3 to the Fusion in the future, assuming I can find the razor blades. The Mach 3 blades are often hard to find, and quite pricey.
I’m going to the Google Summer of Code conference this Saturday. I’m flying out to San Jose tomorrow morning.
I’m pretty excited. I’ll be leading a discussion of cheap, homegrown ways to reward contributors to open source projects.
Then, I’ll fly to LA to visit some friends. And since I’ve never been to California before, this is all new to me. Too bad I won’t have time to check out San Francisco. Oh well.
Also, I was disappointed to hear that the Jason, from what used to be my favorite band for a couple years, Barcelona, is now just putting out novelty songs with his new band, The Sprites.
